-- FM: Cooperation with IAEA to continue within technical frameworks

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said the country will keep cooperating with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), but underlined that it will be within purely technical frameworks.

Iran insists on preserving its cooperation with the IAEA within purely technical frameworks and keeping agency free from political and selective approaches, the top diplomat said in a video message released on Thursday ahead of the 44th anniversary of the victory of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.

-- Iran’s economic growth hits 3.3%: Vice president

Thanks to the extensive efforts of the 13th government, Iran’s economic growth hit 3.3%, said Vice President for Executive Affairs Mohsen Mansouri in Arak, Markazi Province on Saturday.

When the incumbent government came to office, the economic growth of the country was zero, but now, according to statistics, the 3.3%-rise has been registered for economic growth.

-- Mazandaran prosecutor to investigate Taherdeh Zoo

The prosecutor of Sari, the capital of Mazandaran Province, announced that his department will investigate the case of Taherdeh Zoo after photos of its sickly thin lions and bear circulated on Iranian social media.

Chief Justice of Mazandaran, Mohammad Karimi, said that according to the testimony of the owner and the inspector of the Department of the Environment, the animals in question were healthy two months ago, but fell sick after that.

-- Tehran’s Tabi’at Bridge Lit in Red in Solidarity With Turkiye, Syria

The iconic Tabi’at (Nature) Bridge of the capital city of Tehran will be lit in red to show Iranians’ sympathy with Turkish and Syrian quake-hit people. The Public Relations Department of the Abbasabad cultural and tourism municipal area has announced that the sympathetic gesture is a sign of expressing intimacy between the Iranian nation with the people of Turkiye and Syria.
Between 80k and 100k people are expected to visit the Tabi’at Bridge tonight simultaneous with the 16th International Exhibition of Tourism and Related Industries that is in progress in Tehran.

The 16th International Tourism Exhibition and the 36th National Handicrafts Exhibition are underway at the Tehran International permanent Fairground. This important cultural event, with the aim of introducing Iran’s tourism and artistic capacities, will host people, artists, and tourists from Iran and other countries until February 10, 2023.

-- Iranian Plane to Make Maiden Flight Soon

CEO of the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran Mohammad Muhammadibakhsh announced on Saturday that the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran unveiled plans for the maiden flight of a homegrown plane in the coming weeks.
Muhammadibakhsh announced on Saturday that the country is pressing ahead with the production of passenger planes after Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed the need to develop this industry.

-- Iran take bronze at 2023 FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup

 Iran’s men’s team beat the U.S. in the FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup South Africa 2023 bronze medal match on Saturday. The match ended 4-4 in regular time but Iran won the game 3-2 on penalties.

Team Melli also claimed bronze in 2018 after beating Australia. Titleholders Austria and the Netherlands will play for the gold medal. The competition is being held in Pretoria, South Africa from Feb. 5 to 11.

-- Culture Ministry holds banquet for Fajr filmfest foreign guests 

The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance held a banquet on Thursday at Tehran’s Azadi Hotel in honor of foreign guests attending the 41st Fajr International Film Festival. Festival president Mojtaba Amini, Culture Minister Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili and Cinema Organization of Iran director Mohammad Khazaei welcomed diplomats from the embassies of Syria, China, Russia, Pakistan, Kirgizia, Tajikistan, Venezuela, Yemen and Malaysia, the organizers announced in a press release.

The festival is part of Iran’s Ten-Day Dawn celebration, which is organized annually to mark the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

-- Iran’s export to Africa rises 19% in 10 months on year

The value of Iran’s non-oil export to Africa rose 19 percent in the first 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2022-January 20, 2023), as compared to the same period of time in the past year, the vice president of Iran and Africa Merchants Club Ruhollah Latifi said.

Latifi noted that Iranian traders exported over 2,247,619 tons of commodities worth $1,108,357,000 to African countries in the mentioned 10-month period, IRIB reported. According to the official, Iran exported commodities to 45 African countries and the exports also increased by nine percent in terms of weight.
